So far, not so bad. The U.K. economy appears to have bounced back from its post-referendum shock sufficiently to escape a recession this year. That is due largely to the speed with which the country resolved its political crisis and to Prime Minister Theresa May’s success in reassuring businesses, households and investors that she will take her time to work out her negotiating position on Brexit, following careful analysis of the options.
