"Er, don't quote me on the Russian champagne," Russia's chief negotiator laughs. "The French might get upset."
Welcome to his world. For nine years, Mr Medvedkov has been seeking compromises between Moscow's interests and those of 60-odd countries, the largest "working group" assembled in the history of a WTO membership bid.
