After decades of losing its best and brightest to New York and London, Africa's fast growth and expanding financial markets are helping it to lure back highly skilled, local-born bankers.
While Africa's shortage of skilled financial professionals remains a chronic problem -- and a major concern for several of the speakers at the Reuters 2011 Africa Investment Summit -- it may be the continent has finally turned the tide, thanks to a returning diaspora.
"A lot of Africans who have developed skills in more developed markets believe that the biggest opportunities for growth are back in their home markets," Naveed Riaz, Citigroup's (C.N) Africa CEO, told the Summit this week.
