From Theory to Market: State Contingent Debt Instruments (SCDIs) Roundtable

On October 6, the Bretton Woods Committee hosted a roundtable on the feasibility of a real market for SCDIs. The roundtable brought together issuers and investors to advise the IMF on their work in this area as mandated by the G20. Special thanks to Committee members, Bill Rhodes and Christian Kopf, who played an integral role in the planning and implementation of this important dialogue.

New Member and Emerging Leader Reception

Thanks to all of our members, new and existing, who stopped by our member reception on October 6. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know many of you, and especially our Emerging Leaders in attendance. Special thanks to Committee Co-Chair, Jim Kolbe, for playing the part of host for the evening.

The Global Financial System: Dinner and Discussion

On October 6, in advance of the International Council, the Committee hosted a lively dinner and discussion on the global financial system. Topics included emerging risks to financial stability; balancing monetary and fiscal policy and structural reforms; capital requirements and regulatory reform; and financial institution conduct and culture. Special thanks to Committee members Jean-Claude Trichet and Michael O’Neill for offering remarks to kickstart the discussion. A very special thanks to Joni Swedlund and Deloitte for sponsoring the dinner as well as being our strategic sponsor for the 2016 International Council Meeting.
