With scarce public finances directed to servicing a soaring sovereign debt instead of supporting investments for a more resilient economy, low-income countries are doomed into a cycle of unsustainable debt, further fueled by climate impacts, and by the disruptive shocks of cyclical financial crises. Keyu Jin, John Lipsky, Susan Segal, and Mark Walker, spoke with Bill Rhodes about the imperative of addressing these pressing issues through structural reforms to the sovereign debt architecture.
