Background
The Bretton Woods Committee’s Future of Finance Forum, in partnership with Bank of America, is an annual half-day conference that brings together policymakers, regulators, industry experts and practitioners, to discuss emerging topics, trends and technologies shaping the financial services ecosystem. As an economically powerful region on the cutting edge of financial innovation, the conference rotates among Asian financial centers. The inaugural edition of the Forum took place in Singapore in 2022. The second edition of the Forum will take place in Hong Kong in 2023.
Theme
The current global financial landscape is complicated by slowing growth geopolitical tensions, inflation, and rising interest rates coupled with emerging risks in the banking sector. These factors are weighing heavily on financial stability and global economic prospects. At the same time, innovations and disruptions in fintech, blockchain, and digital currencies present an opportunity to overcome that complexity but add challenges of their own. The Future of Finance Forum will explore how policymakers and market practitioners are navigating current challenges and opportunities.
