The Bretton Woods Committee would like to congratulate Milton Wong Tze Sheng as the winner of the 2022 Henry Owen Award Memorial Essay Contest!

This contest asked graduate-level students to expand on ways in which the IFIs can work together to adapt to new global challenges and create a resilient, equitable, and sustainable post-pandemic economy. Milton’s essay was well-focused and well-reasoned, and it presented forward-thinking, creative solutions and ideas for IFIs cooperation.

The Bretton Woods Committee Announces New Working Group on Multilateral Reform


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Washington, DC - April 25, 2022)

At Friday’s Bretton Woods Committee Board of Directors meeting in Washington, D.C., the Board agreed to form a new working group to analyze the shortcomings in the international economic architecture and to propose substantive reforms. 

The Ukraine-Russia war has underscored the significant fissures and weaknesses in the economic and security arrangements that exist to promote economic prosperity and to sustain peaceful coexistence among nations.
