This week, we welcome our newest member, Michael McRaith, vice chair of insurance solutions at Brookfield. In this role, he participates in all aspects of Brookfield’s global insurance operations.
Prior to joining Brookfield in 2021, Michael was a managing director at Blackstone. He previously served as the director of the Federal Insurance Office in the US Department of the Treasury, where he had several national and global leadership roles. Before joining Treasury, he served as the director of the Illinois Department of Insurance and as an officer of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Prior to his public service, he was a partner in the Chicago office of a global law firm, and he was a member of the Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. McRaith holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University of Chicago’s School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. He received the Distinguished LGBTQ Alumnus Award from Indiana University, the Exceptional Service Award from the US Department of the Treasury, and has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
